Very nice!! Is that second one "Cameo Tan"? That is the color I'm about to paint the CJ5.

Bringing back the dead...

Was looking around for Loden Green, since that is the OE color of mine from the paint I've seen around the VIN sticker on my dash, and I found this thread. Can anyone list the options that came on the GE? I read somewhere a tach, and some said V8. Was this on all GEs, or just some?

From the 79 catalog:

"Golden Eagle hood decal with black and gold lettering; body side & grill pin striping; gold and black accent stripe on 15" x 8" styled steel wheels and wheellip extensions; spare tire lock, Tracker A-T 9 x 15 tubleless outline white letter tires; fixed back panel and rear mounted spare (CJ5) or swingaway spare tire carrier (CJ7); tan denim vinyl front buckets and rear bench seat, tan denim vinyl soft top;brown carpeting; roll bar; convenience group; decor group with black rocker pane moldings; tachometer and electric clock;(When ordering hardtop, includes tan hardtopin place of softtop and bronze-tone tinted glass in rear quarter and tailgate windows)"

"Decor group includes rocker panel protection molding, padded instrument pane. instrument panel overlay, and soft feel sports steering wheel"

"Convenience group includes courtesy lights, engine light, and 8" day/night mirror."

Note that in 79 it is called denim but not Levi. The Levi was dropped in 79 and only goes thru 78 models.

Original seats were low back.

Hope this helps

Did the golden eagles come with only the 304? I found one for sale where the year and color match, '77 and brown, but owner says it has the original 258. It's a little far to go investigate. Thanks for any help.

Couple of questions...

What years did CJ7 Golden Eagles run. I have see a few different answears. I have see 76-79 and also have see 77-80.
What colors did the CJ7 Golden Eagles come in? Were they white, green, and brown?

Many moons ago I bought a blue, '78, CJ5 Golden Eagle from my cousin. It had the LEVI'S logo as well. Denim blue LEVI"S seats, light blue dash pad, light blue top, gold pinstriping, tach, clock, V8, PS and PB, all the bells & whistles. It originally had white, wagon wheels.

Here is my '77. I bought it from my buddy about 5 years ago. When I bought it, it was pretty ugly, had been rolled, didn't have a straight body panel on it, and he loved mud, but I wanted it (because it was original) and I just loved the GE. I bought it in the summer of '08, but it's sadly been in the garage most of the time. I've had it to Rausch Creek a few times and also a few PA Jeep Shows, but I'm currently putting in new axles, suspension, fresh 304, T-18a, and twin sticked Dana 300. So it'll be ready for summer and I honestly can't wait to get it back out!

It's a street/trail rig and, yea, I've got the GE fever too!

Here's a before and after pic. The second is before my current teardown and rebuild. I'll add another one after it's complete! Enjoy!
