MoC,

I don't know if you're only interested in the CJ-7, but the Golden Eagle package was also offered on the CJ-5.

I'm totally busting your chops, you know that, right?

The best thing about jeeps is being able to do what you want with them, no matter what anyone else thinks. I'm in the process of switching my interior and exterior over to spice. Did they have spice in 1981 CJ's? No, but it's a heck of a lot easier, and cheaper, than trying to restore all the nutmeg pieces. Will it ever bring the same value as a CJ restored to nutmeg (especially when it's right there in the VIN)? Of course not, but as far as I'm concerned the value is mine. I don't ever want to have to sell her, either, so I could care less what somebody else thinks of what I've done with the interior and everything else.

Follow your folly. That's what New Belgium tells me, anyway.

Walkerhound. Please theres no need to start problems, We all know that Jeep didn't happen to put there Special Edition Jeeps with list of options in there vin #s but that doesen't make them not special!!!!!!! Fact is they are to most Jeep people and some of us are touchy! lol

Did not take your comment bad at all. I just caped the KNOW and explained so that some understood that I was not trying to create a 86 golden eagle under the impression that I was making it more valuable or going to try to pass it off as stock. Way I look at it is that it is mine to do what makes me happy with be it paint, tires, lift etc. I am already well passed stock with my 86. None came with 36's, 5.5 inches lift, brake mods, ignition mods, etc.

The 79 I had was the green. The 78 I have is black. I've seen all the other colors except the red. Would like to see one.

A J-10 golden eagle was the first jeep I ever rode in. It was my dads. It was white and has a 360 in it since then I've been hooked. I was heartbroken when he loaned it to my cousin and it caught fire under the dash and was a total loss. He later got another J-10 that was newer and a step side. It wasnt near as good as the eagle. Then got a 53 willies with a 302 that was pretty good. I will never forget that white golden eagle. I would like to do something to my yj to make it resemble that old J-10.

I was thinking more along the lines of a sticker kit but a half gallon of gas and a lighter would do the trick.
