Is it a golden eagle

Hi folks! wonder if anybody can help, how do i know if my jeep is really a golden eagle, is there a way of identifiying it or are renegade, wranglers, laredos, all the same.

First off, a Wrangler and a CJ are the vehicles themselves.

Then each vehicle was available with various trim/interior packages that included Laredo, Renegade, Levis, Golden Eagle, Sahara, etc.

For instance, the differences between a CJ Laredo and Renegade were: The Renegade was the more basic interior package and the Larerdo came with a tach, a clock, leather wrapped streering wheel and dash grab bar, nicer seats, etc.

The original Golden Eagles came in certain paint colors (like the chocolate brown, dark green, white, etc) and had a rather large decal of a bird on the hood and the word "Golden Eagle" along the sides of the hood. The OEM wheels were golden color too. Newer Wrangler Golden Eagles have resurfaced and the colors are Black, white, Midnight Blue and green.

I'm not sure, but I think the Golden Eagle package just consisted of paint, decals and wheels. Not sure if anything on the interior or mechanics was special.

If you need the decal set, try

I could be wrong but I think the Golden Eagle CJ's had V-8's instead of the 258-6

the 258 in my CJ7 came out of a 1980 CJ7 Golden Eagle. the guy pulled it out to upgrade to the 304. i've read that Renegades also usually came with the 304 V8, but my jeep came with a 258 and the VIN confirms that the I6 was right.

My old Renegade (1983) had a 258 in it as all...

Also, Is there any way to confirm a Golden Eagle or Renegade with Vin or any other means or would you just have to be lucky enough to find remnants of the decals?
