getting ready for new V8 swap

Well, the fresh 304 should be ready to swap in the next couple of weeks. I'm looking at the distributor, and it is the Motorcraft original from 78, and would like to go with this. After reading up on the "Team Rush" upgrade, I'm wondering since I just installed a new HEI on my 258, and pulled out the then unnecessary harness, Module etc..., will I need to put the harness and Ignition module back in? Will the original module even work, or am I wasting my time. Looking at previous posted diagrams, it looks like I only need a few wires, not the whole harness maybe. Is this correct, and if the old module will work, is it going to be so disappointing that I shouldn't even bother? I looked at the new Summit module recomended by J.H. , and not sure I want to spend the $ just yet. Sure am glad I saved all those "unnecessary" parts!
