getting caged, a roof rack and a rear bumper

my brother and i are caging a cj7 for a local guy so i figured i'd post up some pictures as we go, any input or criticism is welcome

we are going off what the owner has requested he wants a simple cage built off the stock B pillar then he wants us to build a roof rack off the cage. he wants it to be about 7' long so he can get up there and sleep in it if he needs to

heres how the jeep looked when it was dropped off at our house

we removed the doors and hard top and started prepping it for the cage. the hard top and doors are for sale if anyones interested

we are going to get all the metal we need for this build tomorrow and the cage should be started by friday

Can't wait to see how it turns out!

Only in America do you have the God given right to be loudly opinionated about something that you are completly ignorant of.

made some progress on the cage, the owner wanted the windshield to still be able to fold down and the knobs he had in there were gonna be in the way of the cage so i welded some wing nuts on a 3/8" bolt and put those in there

old knobs

new ones

built some 4"x4" foot plates for the cage

bending up the A pillar

all bent up

notching the A pillars

tacked in place

we should be able to make more progress on this sometime next week
