Post Gear change with 33" 12.5's??

Should I change my gearing with 33 12.5's? The jeep now has 31's I believe and was running on them for quite a while. Thanks.

That deppends on you really. I dont know what you have for gears now or motor. But if out of your power band now or close will be more with the 33's. 4.10 gears would be good with 33's or 4.56 if you dont do much high speed driveing would have a high rpm.

Jeep what else matters.

Thanks guys, Do any of you know what stock gears are in a 75 CJ5? Also, did LSD's come stock in older Jeeps? Thanks again.

Stock gears in a 75 CJ-5 are 3.73 with 4.27 being optional.

I checked it out on a chart and it put the rpms at about 3200 stock. I am anticipating about 3200-3300 when I put my 35's on and that should be about stock. Before gearing to 4.56 I ran about 2400 on the freeway and had no power in reserve. Now I feel I am right in the powerband, as it has plenty left when I need to pass someone.

Just my $.02 though
