As you can see by my many posts I'm tackling several issues w/ my 73 CJ5. I noticed that my gas guage was not working. I checked the tank (new) and saw that there was a wire comming off the top, I followed it and noticed it was unplugged by the rear bumper. I plugged it in and turned the key and saw that the gas guage shot to the top, way past full, like the needle is barely visible. On the side if the tank are 2 plugged nippled and I have no clue what they go to either. What gas line should go to the odometer cluster/fuel guage?

If it shoots to full real fast then your somehow the resistance is too low from the sending unit. So time to trouble shoot to be sure it is the sending unit and not something funny with your gage.
