Fuel & Temp Guage

Ok, I'm finishing up my new dash. I have added mecahnical Oil & Temp guages and a new Fuel & Volt guage from Auto Meter. I have retained the original Jeep Speedo Cluster for that authentic Jeep look. Even though I have new guages I think I am going to wire up the old ones on the cluster. My question is, If I hook up both fuel guages by splitting or jumping the sending unit wire, will that screw up one or both Fuel guages?? or am I better off just leaving the old fule guage alone.

I have the intention of doing what you did so I disassembled my speedo, removed the temp and fuel needles and blacked out both gauges. They were tested and bad anyway soo....
