Fresh air vent stuck

Replaced the heater control cables on my Jeep and greased the mechanisms for the heat, defrost and fresh air vents. It all seems to work okay when you actuate them by hand although the vent part is pretty stiff. When you try to do it with the cable lever it is so stiff that I've pulled the knob off of the brand new cable. Is there another trick to fix this mechanism?

Have you seen this thread. It explains a lot.You can take your vent portion off and see if there's any obstruction or wear.Your moving quite a bit with that cable. Both flap
