Fresh air vent control linkage

I have an 84 CJ7 which keeps popping fresh air control cables. The linkage arm under the driver dash is hanging freely causing the linkage on the fresh air vent (under passenger side dash) to jam and pop the cable. The linkage rod has a small spring attached to stamped metal L shaped bracket. I cannot figure out exactly where and how this linkage attaches to the fresh air system.I have accesed Chilton, haynes and online resources. The linkage is shown in several diagrams but not detailed or part #'s supplied. If any one has a detailed photo, diagram or experience with this linkage and spring placement, I would appreciate their help.

I dont know..I think its a drop shipper type of deal..never bought anything from them..And as far as a mechanic, cant help you either..The only one I have ever used was the dodge dealer for my truck, and that took ten years to do..needless to say I do all my own work sorry..
