Frame thickness

What was the thickness of the frame on a 1979 CJ-7? I'm thinking it was 3/16" was trying to check to see if that was correct.

It depends where you measure, but that's close. It probably ranges from 1/8 to 3/16".

May not be much help but My YJ was 1/8" in the middle and at the rear X member, and being a YJ it is boxed in those sections. When I extended it I used 3/16 for both inner frame rails and sleeves inside the frame.
