Frame replacement

Hi, all .... I'm looking for a used or aftermarket frame for my '78 CJ7. Most parts and body shops I've called in various states don't carry them. (Although one in Calif. said he had a used one for $350 plus about the same in shipping to D.C. area.) Any suggestions? If anyone has gotten a frame from a reputable company, that info. would be really helpful. Thanks!

Two companies come to mind:

Advanced Frame Works

Matkins

Either of these companies is an excellent choice.

www.4wd.com. Four Wheel Drive Hdwe. stocks AFW frames. Brand new and much stronger than original. They are also fairly close to you, shipping should be reasonable.

Thanks for all the tips ... I may go with the AFW standard replacement frame at 4WD. This frame doesn't come with the transmission and transfer case crossmember or shock mounts. I would like to get new shocks while I'm at it, anyway. But does anybody know whether I'd do better to find a frame that already includes the crossmember?

Just reuse the stuff you already have, it will bolt on. If you really want new, 4WD Hdwe. carries those also.
