Frame Measurement Request

hey guys, i need a favor. i need a measurement from a stock, unaltered cj7 widetrack frame. i need to know the distance between the front edge of the rear spring hanger, and the rear edge of the front spring hanger. both sides, just in case there's a difference. i need to know how far apart the front and rear spring hangers are.

my front end has been boogered up so bad by the PO, it isn't funny. so has the rear crossmember, or lack there of, but that's another story. my rear spring hangers are in the stock position, for sure. the rivet heads are still there so i know those are where they're supposed to be. but the fronts.. well who knows. the PO had done some half-arsed shackle reversal that i'm still trying to iron out. he got rid of the shackle reversal before he got rid of the jeep but didn't put things back together in the right places. thus, my front axle isn't sitting exactly square. i've got it close, but it's still off a little bit. so if i can get the distance between the two spring hangers, i can set my fronts exactly where they should be. thanks fellas

The distance center to center on the hangers is 43 1/8", where the shackle bolt goes through each bushing. I just measured mine with a tape measure, not precise but it will get you close.

No, I've got my own aftermarket spring hangers on my CJ so that measurement might not be the same as the factory hangers. The dimension I gave you is from the center of each mount where the spring attaches on the statioanary mount in the rear and where the bushing fits through the hanger in the front one.

Hope that helps.

thanks jim, i appreciate it, but i'd think it'd be best to reference my measurements from a frame with stock hangers. just to keep it simple.. i do appreciate the effort though.

yup, front to rear. my rear hangers are in the correct place, my fronts aren't. so since the rear hangers are correct, that the best place for me to measure from.

i need from edge of spring hanger, to edge of spring hanger (the forward edge of the rear spring hanger, to the back edge of the front spring hanger). thanks redman..

Aside from falling down the stairs last night then once I was able to stand up and make a way to the toilet only to pass out while taking a leak... pretty good. Thanks for asking.

Yeah and just for you I went all the way up the hill this morning with my crackling knees to lay on my sore back and measure the distance between the two at the point that each edge rest against the bottom of the frame rail.

Do you want me to waddle back up there for another spread point?

How you doin?
