Found this on Craigslist...is it a good deal?

Found this axle on my local Craigslist. Is it a good deal? Also will this fit under a later model cj5?

Thanks,
The CJ Noob

I would snatch it up for that price. You can probably get it for $75

Pull the diff cover and confirm there is something in there. Inspect the ring and pinion for damage. I would also measure to confirm it is a wide track.

Do you know if it will fit under a 76-83 cj5? Planning a future build

How wide should it be? Sorry I really don't know much about CJ stuff...I'm trying to plan a cj5 build assuming this will fit under a 76-83 cj5...for a future build

The Dana 30 wide track was 56" wheel to wheel.

The Dana 30 narrow track was 53" wheel to wheel.

Spring pads are at 28" for both.

Yes, the axle will fit under a CJ5 built in 76 to 83, wide track axles first appeared is CJs in 1982.

Good Luck..........

I have an '83 Widetrack in my CJ-5. If you go with any lift, you will need longer brake lines. I used Chevy 1/2 ton pickup lines from NAPA. Other than that, simple swap.

There are some things you will learn while holding a cat by the tail that can be learned no other way...

Thanks guys! I'm just ready to start my build but I guess I need a CJ5 first...kinda important! I'm looking for something cheap that really hasn't had anything done to it. I don't even care if it runs! I just wanna do a complete build myself
