ford 8.8 or Dana 60?

My 33's are about done amd I'm looking to get 35's and a locker in the rear. Also getting ready to build a V8 to compete with my brothers 400sbc, I'll never go bigger than 35's with this jeep, i drive it everyday and like to keep it on the light side, minimal armor, aluminum where possible.

How much heavier is a semi-float 60 than an 8.8? I know an 8.8 is pretty strong, and can get 35 spline axle as well. I just want to do it once and be done with it.
Not much interest in a 9" because of the low pinion/driveshaft angles.

Currently i have a line on a set of widetrac width dana 44 and 60 axles with Arbs in them and 3.73's which is perfect for my Sm465.

35's are on the small end for a 60. Any clearance you gain by upping the tire size will be negated by the low hanging chunk of the 60.

The advertised position for a topless, dirty jeep girl has been filled......by my wife. Thanks to all that applied.

The 60 I have a line on has a shaved housing, and I'm more worried about the horsepower aspect than the 35's
