That is the main reason I went with fixed backs even in my CJ7. Horizontal bar on the new cage runs right behind the seats.....I might have been able to recline about 2".

I like my Mastercrafts......I didn't pay nearly what I see online for mine. I got them from a local shop that is now out of business....go figure. They are comfortable though!

i gotta ask are they difficult to get out of? I want the seat to hold me but not be a b***t to get out of. my bud has a stang with some hardcore racing seats (10 second car) and its a chore getting in and out of them

I read nothing but good things about mastercraft, hell I even see mastercraft seats and belts in the armored trucks the army is using now

anyone got a good place to get them enexpensive ?

No problems getting in and out. The fabric is alot cooler than the stock vinyl ones I had.

Sorry I don't have an inexpensive source anymore

I put Corbeau Moabs in my CJ7.... Roll cage blocks a full recline but that little bit helps plenty on a long road trip.
I have a bad back so it was worth it to me.... and you really don't save that much money anyhow.

I'm pretty sure they are the Rubicon. The rear is a Baja that they list for an early ford bronco but they make it for a CJ if asked.

I got the Trailmax2 Fixed. I'm hoping to get them in within the next 2 weeks. Gotta finish my rollbar first. Anyway, I bolted the passenger seat up to the bracket and sat it in the jeep to get an idea. There's only like maybe 3" between the back of the seat and fenderwell. The seat feels comfortable (so far) and I'm sitting like 4" higher in the jeep. When I get the driver's seat in, I may have to get a smaller steering wheel.
Anyway, I'm glad I didn't spend the extra on the reclining ones.
I'll get pics when I'm done.

already have the small grant steering wheel and might have a chevy steering column with tilt put in

but a 5 is limited on space i never can recline my seats

the seats i really want are the corbeau XRS but jsut cant see dishing out 700 bucks for recline , just like the way they look

the baja SS are nice but it is difficult to use the stock belts , and i want the ease of the stock belts my friends stang has 5 point harness its a pain but he needs it with 10 second quarter mile times. my jeep does not I plan on doing light wheeling mostly street time so the baja JP is looking better by the second if anyone else can reccomend a seat that is under 300 and is sporty im listening lol

Thanks! As I get older I'm much more aware of "comfort" and these fit the bill.
