Fiberglass Tub or Fix Old metal

I have a 74 cj5, and the body is pretty bad, would I be better off saving my money for a new fiberglass or metal tub or just spend the time fixing all the rust and holes?

I'm not a body man, but I can tell you those on this forum who are are going to need some pictures of your tub in order to give you their opinion.

From what I can see on my phone in that pic, doesn't look that bad to me.

I'd fix it, unless you show us something a lot worse.

I'm not a fan of fiberglass tubs. But that's just me.

Do you have a good welder? I would learn to fix it.

Do they salt a lot were you live? Then I would suggest a fiberglass tub.

I you have the time and are patient, I would say fix it. Nothing like having a hand on every portion of a vehicle. That is truly "built not bought"

I have a fiberglass tub on my 7. I run the Jeep alot on the beach where steel bodies turn to swiss cheese. I have to say I love the fiberglass. It's very tough, easy to fix and holds paint well. If you're wheeling much I'd suggest a roll bar frame tie in kit in case of a roll.

I've got a glass tub too, I wouldn't have anything else living on the ocean.

Well if you are gonna be picky!! LOL

Yeah I was looking at the replies referencing 7's. A YJ tub would indeed be a little long!! Ignore the idiot & pay close attention to the guys who know something!
