Fiberglass hood safety catch

Does anyone have experience with hoods from Fiberglass Laminating? I'm working on a CJ front end swap for my 87 (jealous of your round headlights, wanted a CJ but couldn't pass up a deal on my YJ). I was unable to find a decent CJ hood in my area, so I bought one of these from JC Whitney with some coupons I had to keep the price low. I know I'll need to do some fabbing for the grill and fenders, but I'm curious about the center safety catch. The hood has no support bar in the front where the latch would catch. Very bare bones, but that's kind of what I was going for.

I've thought about using some plates and a u-bolt or something similar underneath for the latch to catch on.. or maybe even hood pins if it looks decent. Just not too comfortable with such a light hood and just the two side catches.

Any thoughts? Thanks guys

In my experience the center catch is pretty useless. Stick with the outer hood catches on each side.

I've had a hood come up at highway speeds when the outers were forgotten and the center failed to stop the hood. I know for a fact that I'm not the only one as well.
