Fender flares on a 1978 CJ7

Hi! In the process of getting jeep body from paint shop. Was wondering on what size fenders to put on? Going to put 33"s on and want something thats not huge! Cant get original...dont make anymore.... Also, have to put body back together....how hard is it? Never heard of a paint shop sending jeep back in pieces! Thanks, Sharon

Hi Sharon,

I think a lot of guys use YJ or TJ fender flares on their CJs because they come in different widths. I don't think they fit exactly, but close enough.

How wide are your 33"s?

You can get 'replacement' fender flares just about anywhere. The original OEM ones were made of a dense rubber material and the aftermarket ones are ABS plastic I believe. They look just as nice and will give if something hits them like some A-holes door in the parking lot.
