Family roll bar question

Will the roll bar out of an 04 wrangler fit in my 86 CJ7?

Thanks

If my memory serves me, a TJ Bar won't fit (easily anyway). You want a family bar from a YJ, up to '96.

If you're asking if it's a direct bolt-in, the answer is no. However, I have seen a few write-ups where people have actually modded them to fit. Seems like a waste of time to me when a YJ family bar serves the same purpose for a LOT less effort. The YJ family bar from a 92-95 are the only one's that bolt in (sorry CrashOdle for the slight correction).

No worries, as a previous TJ ower, I thought 97 was the first year! DUH!

Actually, you are correct! There was no 1996 model of either the YJ or TJ.

It would seem that way at first, but the TJ bar offers adjustable height shoulder mounts for the belts and more importantly, there are fabbers like me who do crazy stuff like fit TJ soft tops onto the CJ/YJ bodies. With the spreader bars in different locations to acomadate the door surrounds and the rear bars inward more to clear the bow system, starting with a TJ bar and modding the two B bar feet is way worth it.
If all your after is 3 point rear belts and a spreader bar grab handle, yes, the 91 to 95 bar will fit the bill.
