Guy-

Check out:

Books4Cars.com

Here's a tip:

When you get to the page where you enter the make, model, year, etc, just click on "Jeep" and leave the rest blank.

I first put in "Jeep, 1983, CJ" and only got 2 matches: a Chiltons and a Haynes manual. Not what I expected.

Then I tried only entering "Jeep" and I got over 100 Jeep Factory Service manual listings. Just scroll down through them- they're listed by date.

What I ended up buying was the 1982 Factory shop manual, the 1983 Supplement, and the 1984 Wiring diagram manual. Note that none of these have the term "CJ" in them which explains why they didn't show up on the initial search.

They're not cheap, but then again they are the original Jeep books (or reprints). My total was $125.

Hey, that's about the same price as the OEM EGR valve I just bought!

Give them a try.

Hello

Just checking out ebay. Here is a manual CJ from 1986. but should be good for 1984 too. It is factory and very detailed. I own the same manual. The item # is Item # 2127077458 . go to www.ebay.com and put that # in the search box. It is currently going for 24 US so far. A great price, i have seen them go for up to $85 US.
hope this helps

RE: Tech Service Manual

I got one for my '82 CJ at www.thejeep.net/catalog.....
That's the address for Turner's Four Wheel Drive's online sales.

They tend to be pretty expensive ($77 bucks for mine), but they ARE fully authorized reprints, so they contain all the info from the originals.......very.very handy to have. I find myself refering to it constantly (after tossing my Haynes manual in the trash)!!
