Exhaust and skit plate Q

Howdy all.

I'll make this quick. I was hired to rebuild a '71 CJ5 with the little Buick V6 motor. 2 questions.

I know this is a heat shield, where does it go. I forgot. I think it bolts to the lower bolt of the drivers cyl head as a heat shield for the fuel pump.

My other question is which way does the "free" end of the skid plate go. It mounts to the Xmember with 4 carriage type bolts and where from there? Forward or to the rear.

I did a bit of searching but thought this would be easiest and fastest.

Appreciate the help in advance.

PS No I don't own a Jeep. However if you wish I can tell you how I almost killed myself in an old Army Jeep back when I was 15.

Thanks. Sorry but I didn't realize you had posted. Sorry for the delay. (I thought I'd get an email.)
