Exhaust manifold issue

Can anyone tell me what this is, what it does, and how i might fix it??

The hard tubing is broken off at both ends.

Its off of a 258 4.2L I6 1979 cj

dana 30 front axle - amc 20 rear axle
in line six 258

Nothing wrong with it. It attaches to the auto choke on the carb. Air is heated by the exhaust and it heats up the temp actuated choke.
