Ethanol- Satan Reincarnate

Ah...that lovely ethanol garbage. The CJ started hesitating at "tip in" and then started a good ole backfire if you really stepped in to it. So it was time for a carb rebuild. This is NOT a daily driver, so feast your eyes on what happens when they sit-in particular the accelerator pump area (which is not news to those of you who have had to rebuild every last one of your mower/trimmer/chainsaw carbs and fuel lines).

I've been buying REC 90 for this reason.

Yep. I put ethanol free in all power equipment and my boat. This one is next (although we drive it a good bit this time of year). Too much sitting in the garage over winter. I'd like to tar and feather the "Big Ethanol" lobby.

I'll bring more than one! I better spool down before I get all wound up and ready to start the 2nd American Revolution. You know they did some tar and feathering back then!

I had the same problem with my weed eater and the hose that connects the electric fuel pump to the intake inside the tank on my John Deere mower went bad due to that stuff.

"Spool down"- ha! I've got to use that one!

I hear ya, Jim. I've rebuilt all of my yard equipment until I "saw the light" finally and started using corn free gas. The real mind blower is how it turns the fuel lines to mush!

And to think I put a new tank and new fuel lines on the CJ last year, only to introduce garbage into the system.

Almost all outboard boat motors have a sticker on them that read if you use fuel with ethanol in it, you void the warranty.
