Engine / Tranny switch Quesiton

This might have been asked before, but all well.

Does anyone know if I take the GM-151 and SR-4 out of my 1980 CJ7 and replace them with a 1984 258 and T-5 if I will have to change the length of the drive shafts? What about anyother changes?

Thanks,
Kevin

The only other things you should have to change is the engine mounts and possibly the radiator for better cooling. If the 4 was in an '80 then it should have had a D300 TC so the tranny from the '84 should bolt right up to it.

You also may have to change the clutch, since the four probably came with a hydraulic clutch and the T5 would not have had one. So you might have to put in a whole new clutch system.
