can anyone tell me what the engine number 604c08 means on my 1986 cj7

The guy I bought my Jeep from said it had a 1979 engine in it, but If I'm reading the information on that website right, It's saying my engine was built on 04/08/1986 and so it might just be the original engine. Thanks.

6 - 1986 (or 1973. For 1979, however, this character would've had to be a 3)
04 - April
C - 258 2 bbl (4.2L, 76-89)
08 - 8th Day of the month

OEM 2bbl 258 did not start production until 1976 (eliminates 1973)

Hence:
04/08/1986
258 2 bbl (4.2L, 76-89)
