Engine Bay Emissions Decal Research

Over on the EarlyCJ5.net forum I've started a thread to recreate my original emissions decal. I'm posting here to expand the audience in my search for a better photo.

My original emissions sticker from a 1972 CJ5Renegade - build date June 1972

My in progress reconstruction of the above

Anyone have a photo of this emissions decal?

The thread on ECJ5 looks like its going to morph into a wider guide on engine decals and placement. May be interesting to a few members here.ECJ5 Thread

Wow there is a big difference in 72 and 73 decals. On eBay you can get an almost correct 73 decal but the 72
Looks nothing like the 72 that is listed. My original 73 said amc on it not jeep as yours does. I wish i took a pic of it before I had I had my grill sandblasted.

Hopefully someone can get things moving to produce the emissions decals for all years. Also the safety certification decals.

Thanks Joe73

What is the build date of yor '73? I'd like to track build dates with examples. As I get the feeling we will see decal changes mid year.

And do you know if your CJ is a California build?

That's a bit of my plan. At least for the intermediate years - 72 to 75. But we can always expand up to the unfortunate end.

Do you have an example of the safety sticker?

That middle one is the one I had reproduced for my '76. There are others out there for the earlier AMC's, but '76 seemed to be the bastard year, so I sucked it up and had Ted Hague do my decals, and I am very pleased with the results.

Actually, both decals cost me $75 altogether, and Ted gave me two of each.

The bottom decal is off my '85 CJ-7 and I called the same "Ted" and the price magically went up to $175 per decal (Emissions and Certification) and $50 for each additional copy.

We need to find someone else who can make these for us that won't charge an arm, leg, and third born.
