Emergency brake cable route
Guys and gals,
I am trying to put an emergency brake cable on a 1982 CJ7 that the PO removed. I know how the cable attaches to the frame, equalizer and rear cables but I cannot get it to route back to the pedal with enough slack to connect it. I am about an inch or so short and am barely even entering the pedal bracket. I don't have enough slack to clip it. Does anyone have any pictures of its factory route? Or can someone tell where it crosses the frame to get up through the floorboard hole? The cable is off of a 86 CJy that was functional but I did not pull it. Just need some reference. Pictures would be great! Thanks...

holes in frame
I just replaced all three of mine. There should be two holes in the frame that the cable goes through. Sort of oval shaped, then a hole in the floor board to go to the pedal.
Good luck! BiggDaddy |

Yeah, I kinda figured that was the path. My problem is the brainless previous owner filled the frame with great stuff foam insulator or similar to "Keep the mud out". I just got through boring a hole to feed the cable through. Should be fun tomorrow.
