electric fan and steering column donor vehicles

Went to the junk yard today to try to get some parts for my build and have a coulple of questions...

1. I found a set of dual fans from a 1994 Taurus SHO is this a good fan swap if Im looking to do an electric fan in my Jeep? Or are there other vehicles with better fans that I need to be looking for?
2. Ive got a stock tilt steering column (GM) that I want to rebuild, but there seems to be some broken parts in it. What other GM vehicles used the same tilt column that I have now?
Thanks Guys!

Bump... really need to know about the fans... should I have the junk yard pull them for me or is there a better option? Don't want them to get away if they will work well for my Jeep.

For those of you that used the Contour fans from a junk yard, how much did you pay for them... went to my local jy this morning and he wants $90 for the fans... is that an OK price or a rip-off?

I paid $60 for the Contour fans. They are getting harder to find.

The Contour fan is very popular with a number of groups of vehicle owners. The Mustang crowd likes them, the early Bronco crowd likes them, the CJ crowd likes them, etc. Demand is pretty high for them. That's not a bad price if the junkyard is the type where they pull the parts and inventory them. If it's a U-Pull-It type, it's pretty high, IMO. I paid $45 for mine I think.

My jy won't let you pull your own parts... they pull them for you. Tried to talk him down to $80, but he won't budge. Can anyone else give my their opinion on the price I was quoted? (Sure wish I could find some of those $60 and $45 deals!)

If I got to pay $90 at my local jy... I think I might rather pop for a few extra dollars for this...

I just bought one at a local junk yard and paid $40 with wiring. Not quite as nice looking as the eBay one but spray paint is cheap.

I usually call first or search around using the web then make a counter offer. There are websites for used car parts that help. Just Google used car parts for sites.

I got my dual fans from a 99 mercury cougar. Perfect fit and it has two stage cooling built in. paid about 20 bucks for mine. $10 for universal clips and about $30 or $40 for the thermo-controller (universal from Oriellys) whole thing works great!

Personally I shop a junkyard that I pull my own parts. Every electric fan they sell has the same price.
