Double Cardan Shaft

I read that the front drive shaft and yoke from some cherokee's with the 231 case will work for the rear in a CJ with the D300 if you shorten it. Are there certain years to look for? Also, I have a 94' Grand with a 249 case. would the front yoke swap over to the D300?
