Door handles - supposed to be chrome or black?

I have to replace a handle in my set of 83 doors and top, so I figured I'd do both because the other rattles too. BUT I don't know which kind to get, since I'm restoring these doors and top and will want to sell them, most likely to another CJ owner, in a month or two, so I want them to be correct and something a person restoring a CJ would want.

Should I use chrome handles or black? I prefer black but I'd rather do it properly than how I'd like it to be on my YJ.

What other colors are on the jeep? If you have no other chrome, I'd probably not have the handles the only chrome piece on there, but if the mirrors, windshield braces, trim, etc is already chrome, it'd probably look nice. If the body is predominantly black, then that's your answer most likely. Take a side shot of the jeep and post it so everybody can see what you're working with.

My Jeep is black on black on black, but that's not what I'm interested in. On my vehicle the handles and all hardware are currently black, but I need to replace the handles and I would like to sell the top and doors very soon, after I do some more restoration work on them, so my question is which is more factory for a CJ7 - chrome handles or black ones. OR - will a CJ owner buying a very nice set of doors and top care about the handle finish?

Most CJs I've seen have chrome handles, I think, so that is why I'm asking if it's supposed to be a certain way or if people will care.

Here are two of my YJ though, all blacked out:

all the cj door handles came in chrome regardless of trim package. They didn't use black until the YJ i believe. If someone that is buying the doors is doing a resto. then they'll want the chrome. just my

Thats exactly what I needed to know, thanks! These doors and top will be in really good condition when i'm done, not quite mint but close. I figure the best person to sell to will be a CJ owner with a good looking CJ or a restoration project, so I want to keep it as appealing to that theoretical CJ owner as possible. I mean, if a YJ owner wants to drop $1200 on a smokin set from a CJ, that'd be ok too, but I don't think that's very likely.
