Do 4 or 5 bolts hold on the backing plate amc 20?

I'm putting the axles back in my amc 20. I've noticed there are 5 bolt holes in the backing plate and the axle tube. I only removed 4 bolts on each side. How many bolts should there be?

Are you looking at the drain hole as the 5th one? You should have an extra hole so that if your inner seal fails you don't fill the brake drums with gear oil.

There are only 4 bolts used to mount it. The bottom hole is basically a drain hole.

My full floater uses all 5.

The bottom bolt comes out when you take the spindle out....

Thanks everyone for the help. I didn't know that was a drain hole.

Pretty sure the FSM says 32 ft lbs for the backing plate.
