Distributor, wobble.

Is it normal for the distributor to have some wobble, i was under the jeep had it running and my distributor had a somewhat noticeable wobble to it. Is this normal, and if not what do i need to do to fix it?

No, it's not normal for a dizzy to wobble. Is your lock down clamp secure? Is it a stock Duraspark dizzy or some aftermarket DUI?

Are you sure it wasn't an "opical dilution" from vibration? Like the wobbling straw trick.?
Grab it and try and move it.

I've never seen anything good come out of a wobbling distributor. But now you have to find out why there is a problem before you put in a new one and it starts to wobble.

IS the engine original? maybe someone bent the distributor housing when removing the engine.

Mine too was wobbling the other day... turns out mine had a crack in it... right at the base near the clamp hold down... I have never seen anything quite like it... although right before I found it, I noticed a bit of a miss under load.

I have a new one on the way, but when I took it out, the outer housing definitely is cracked and not in great shape.

Sucks, but I am glad I caught it when I did.

Mine was at the base, you couldn't miss it.
Also, could your distro have been bent maybe on the bench, or shelf prior to install?
