Defroster / Heater Vent Linkage

Hi Folks,
Tried the search and didn't find an answer to my dilema.

I am looking for a diagram / photo of the vent cable (2nd from top) connection to the linkage that opens / closes defrost or heat (passenger side vent - low). I have a 78 CJ7.

It appears the PO modified the (OEM?) cable and subsequently the new replacement cable doesn't close the defrost and open the floor vent OR closes the floor vent and open the defrost at the same time.

I have a feeling I am missing a major part in this heating system.

Does anyone know where I can find a diagram / photo of what the stock setup looks like?
