Dash Pull Retainers (Air/Heat/Defrost)

I have all of the cables that I need, I just don't have the abilty to put them on and have them stay on as I can't find the retainers.

I searched all over the forum for where to get these and no one seems to have mentioned the special place. I don't even have a picture of the old ones so I can't even go to a Lowe's or whatever to get them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Craig

Are you talking about those push on washer keepers ?
If so, I would think any auto parts store, most likely NAPA. They are common on many vehicles.

Hmm, I have used some cables without them. The lever pin the cable loop goes over is pretty long enough. When the cable was press fitted in it's retainer it did not seem like it would come out. I don't remember a problem.

I don't have any one for reference... although, maybe I can steal one off the wife's Jeep... have to check on that.

If the wifes Jeep doesn't work out let me know and I can post a picture. Your talking about the little washer retaining clips that hold the cables onto the box door rods right?

Yes, those are the ones... unfortunately I was outside working on Jeep #3 today and didn't even look at the wife's Jeep... I will have to try tomorrow... I probably need to snake one off of somewhere anyway to match up when I go to the store.
