I prefer no pad! I think it looks more classic, vintage without them... Just my 2cents

Almost everyone takes them off because they fade and crack .the other problem is they collect water behind them and rot out the windshield frame and cowelling. I like them either way . I would put one back on if they weren't to expensive for the after markets .So plain for me cause $$$$$$$
Happy Wheelling!

I don't have the pad in mine and love the way it looks. Classic Jeep! My wiper motor cover is the same green as the Jeep. California sun reflects off of enough parts without adding more chrome parts!

I like mine, it's covered in leather by a friend that works at a corporate jet airplane upholstery shop, wish it was the one with the thin ears on the side, cause I'm wanting to add front hoop. like others said makes a nice shelf [while sitting still]

I voted naked.

I just replaced my windshield frame and pulled mine out.

It now looks more retro and cleaner.

I prefer no dashpad. And a shoulder harness.

I've always thought they looked "added on". Either way is fine but I prefer no pad.

Nuh - uh... Keep it plain for me... I like the classic utilitarian look of the dash... Here's a pic of installing mine a few years ago...
