I think thats the O-ring that seals the speedo housing to the case.

Original AMC part number for the internal seal is J321-2847. New Chrysler/Mopar part number is 4883434AA (SEAL PKG TRANS SPEED). Should be able to find it at a local Chrysler Jeep dealer. Searching on the web turns up hits for $8-$10.

I just picked up a pack of misc o-rings in the Help section of Advance Auto. Has 16 different sizes. I am hoping one of them works for that small ring because I could not find it anywhere either. Pack was like 4.99.

MarkA, Your the man
Cummins Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Weatherford, OK is the only dealer I found that had it in stock. 1-800-375-3351 part # 4883434AA
A whopping $7.25
Say goodbye to that lousy drip

Yah, I seen that yesterday.
I didn't call to ask them if it would fit the CJ's.
I wanted to see if I could get an OE seal first.
But they were on my list............... Thanks

Just an FYI for anyone that needs that inner seal.... this is in fact the correct one. For 1.50 + .44 shipping I bought one to see and it is exactly the same.

can't find j321-2847 or 4883434aa anymore ... other than a $43 kit on ebay right now

so i'm trying the part listed above for the dodge seal - hard to believe they don't make the seal kit anymore

nice! after searching for the Jeep seal under 2 part numbers and only finding they don't make that kit anymore ... this seal for the dodge is a fit. Here's a pic of the old one next to this dodge seal for anyone searching in the future
