dana 300 clocking ring ut oh

I have a question...and knowing that we are all mental giants here I thought I would ask. those of you who are not mental giants can stop reading now.

I want to clock my dana 300 and get rid of my transfer case skid plate so that I can have a nice flat sheet of steel under the frame. more clearance not get hung upon rocks etc...

so if I clock it and lose the stock skid plate I also lose the 1 inch skid plate drop that I installed to eliminate the drivetrain noise/vibration. what is the cheap easy fix to this? anyone anyone bueler bueler

The cheap easy fix is to leave it alone. Everything else you mentioned is gonna cost at least a little money and require some hard work. I would be sure to run a rear CV driveshaft, ditch the 1" TC drop, build a frame work and mounting system for the TC that can be "skinned" with something like 3/16" or 1/4" steel. Not sure what kind of effect clocking will have on TC to body tub clearance.. maybe a 1" body lift would help. Also, if you're already running quite a bit of suspension lift, you'll want to check the front driveshaft ujoints at full droop to make sure they won't bind...
