Crankshaft Pilot bearing CJ3B

I am starting to put my Jeep back together. When I started to put the Flywheel I noticed that the rear of the crank was cone shaped. Also the first 1/4 in of the transmission shaft.

Question: Do I put the flywheel on and then tap the pilot bearing (Bushing) in until it bottoms out? or ?????????? Any help is appreciated.
