Cost To Paint Hard Doors?

I posted this in the general discussion area, but it's not getting any attention over there.

What is a very rough estimate on the cost of getting a set of hard doors painted to match a jeep? I tried asking the local shops, but they're pretty tight-lipped until they at least see the doors, which I don't have yet. One of the guys did say in order to do it right, he'd need to blend the sides of the jeep to match, just in case the colors were slightly different. Anyway, I've never had anything painted, so I don't know if it would be $200 or $2000.

And for the love of god, guys, if you're going to paint a jeep, and you have some hard doors for it, PAINT THEM TOO, even if you think you'll never use them. I'm looking to buy a CJ and this is the second or third one I've run across that was freshly painted, with a set of hard doors sitting in the garage not painted.

Since one if the major costs of painting doors or anything else is labor. You can save your self some coin if you take in the doors bare. I had a price of $500 to paint mine, so I did it myself and had about $100 in supplies, not to mention my time.

It cost me ~$500.00 to get a guy to combine two sets into one, refurbed, cracks fixed and paint matched.

If jeep is freshly painted (i.e. less than a year not parked outside during summer) ask the seller for the paint code.

The shops want to see the doors first because they cant tell you $200,then you bring in some bent, rusty, bondo`d doors. The blending of the sides will need to be done if you want it to match well.Unless its black,non-mettallic,then you can get away without blending "most" of the time. And yes I have 7 years bodyshop experience.

For a shop just to box paint the doors is roughly $500 depending on the area/labor rates.

:edit,my jeep is blue with black hard doors...ha

Yeah, I understand why the shops don't want to give me an estimate. That's why I came here.

So, it's looking like at least $500. Great. I'll probably just rattle can the doors until I get all the more important things working.

Thanks, that's pretty cool. I've never seen that before. I probably would have tried that on my last CJ if I'd known about it. The one I'm looking to buy already has a fresh paint job though. I don't want to repaint it. I just want the doors to match.
