I wouldn't be surprised to find that CLR and other products like it (ie lime a way) are basically diluted muratic acid, with coloring and something for the fumes.
I use 10 parts water to 1 part muratic acid to clean the bottom of my fiberglass boat. And a 12 to 1 mix in my fiberglass shower, any more than that and it will turn chrome black.

I'd be cautious with it.

got a friend that does Auto Trannys.He uses Cascade in his degreasing vat.It performs real well under heat.Tranny cases come out looking like new with no harm to them

Off subject a tad. What radiator are u running here? I'm about 2 months away from purchasing one and down to either the 2 or 3 row champion.
