Convert from SOA to SUA

HI,

I have a 1980 cj7 which the previous owner converted to spring over axle. I want to go back to spring under axle instead. First question, how do I know if the drive shafts will be too long? Second will I need any new parts or can I use the parts on the vehicle and just switch them around. I know the original perches were left in place.

Thanks for any and all help
Nick

It depends on how well done the SOA was done. The amount of effort to put it back will be at least as much as it was to do the SOA in the first place. Your drive shafts will be too. I would suggest looking for someone who want to convert to SOA and swap some part.

I just converted from soa to and sua with a 4" springs. It will not be to hard with the original spring perches in place. I had to shorten the driveshafts and change out the shocks for longer ones.
