Continuing brake problems on 76CJ7... removing bleeders, removing lines???

Here's the situation.

New MC

Larger port, the one closest to the driver, runs down to the proportioning valve/combo valve and then goes out one line to the rear drum brakes

Smaller port goes down to combo valve and out two lines to front disc brakes

Rear brakes bleed great, and I was able to flush all the old fluid out

Front brakes wouldn't bleed at all for a long time then the passenger side one started bleeding OK. I can't get the driver side bleeder out, so I haven't bled it.

With all the bleeding done as can be done, this is what happens.

If I pump the brakes 3 times and hold pressure, then the Jeep stops quick. If I let off, it goes soft again until I pump it again.

If I cap off the front reservoir on the master cylinder (plug the output) then the brakes are REALLY hard but don't really work that well.

Any ideas how to get my brakes running right?

Also, I can't begin to get the brake line nuts to loosen off the proportioning valve. PB blasted but still no luck. Any ideas on that one?

You need to read what I wrote on your other post.

To answer your question:

1) you need to bleed the other brake
2) Somebody JB welded those fittings onto your proportioning valve.

Good luck with frozen fittings.

You have to bleed that other brake, if the bleeder brakes replace it... or the caliper. If the hose gets messed up, replace that. If the hard line fitting... well you see where this is going.

I disagree about jb weld, I think thats natural corrosion and dirt. Look at the springy sheathing on the brake line, its packed too.

Well, here's a real problem... I didn't even notice page 2 on that previous post. I'm new here.

Looking forward to doing the following tomorrow.

1) Buying a flare tool because I don't see those fittings coming loose.
2) Going to a mech to get that bleeder screw drilled out.
3) Probably buying a new prop valve (do I need one with that electrical wire to it?)
4) If I have enough money left, buy new front brake lines.

Oh yeah, now I get to buy a new alternator because I just realized that's out... sweet. Anyone give loans?

By the way, after a ton of pumping, I'm getting fluid to one of the fronts (the one I CAN get the bleeder out of). I guess I'll replace that stuck bleeder and try things out first.
