Computer question and FUEL INJECTION question

Im taking the 258Ci from an 1980 CJ-5 and dropping it into my YJ, i plan on putting fuel injection on it, my first question, sence i can take the head and manifold off a 4.0 can i take the fuel injection off it also? once my swap is done, what should i do for a computer? do i buy a aftermarket one specialy for the swap or do i use the CJ one? thanks for the help

If your starting from scratch I would concider making a 4.5L out of a 4.0L block with the 4.2L crank, and which ever rods and pistons (I do not remember if you use the 4.0 or 4.2 rods and pistons.

Is your YJ a factory 6cyl or are you replacing a 4cyl engine?

its a 4 cyl. but i already have the 4.2L

If you have a complete donor vehicle with the MPFI, then take everything.
Wiring harness, computer, sensors.......
Swap everything in as a complete running motor.

If you are not referring to the MPFI then you should start with a search and possibly the sticky at the top of the forum.

well i have a 4.2L, i want to take the head and manifold off a 4.0L to put on my 4.2L. i would like to put Fuel Injection on it also, can i take the 4.0L injection and put it on the 4.2L with the 4.0L head and manifold? sorry for the confusion i should have been more spacific. im looking to see what parts i should buy.
