complete body removal of 78 cj5

I planning on removing the body from a 78 cj5, I dont plan on
saving it so any suggestions as the best way to remove the complete body, leaving only the frame and motor.

Tote it down to the local scrap yard. You will need the title for them to take it, but you'll make a couple of bucks for your effort.

I have pulled quite a few bodies off. The best way to do it is to wrap a ratchet strap around the body on the front half of the tub and another small one around the top of the roll bar. Hook these up to an engine hoist with the arm fully extended. Jack up the hoist and the body will come right off. Use the ratchet strap on the front to level the body when lifting it. The front is much heavier than the back.
Make sure to remove the shifter from the tranny. The hoist may not clear it.

While it's on the body, cut it in 1/2 with a sawzall...
Then you can disect the 2 halves into smaller pieces and toss them out in the garbage.
I used to own two CJ's...Perhaps a 3rd is in the future?
