Which Column For Cj 7?

Anybody know for sure which model from GM to look for at the yard for an exact fit? CJ columns on ebay are to much money. The only reason I would like to know is to find a tilt.

I broke the plastic gear indicator for automatic transmissions. I thought I had depressed the clip enough before I started pulling on it. Any GM from the 80's should work for this replacement, right? The other thing I'd like to do is replace the bulb, I think it's burned out. It looks like there's a green sleeve over the bulb or is it just a green bulb? How do you remove it, press down & twist?

Removing the lock plate may hold me up because I don't know what it looks like. I found an article on how to remove it, with pictures. I'm going to go to the parts manual to see what it looks like after I enter this thread. Thanks for your help. CJ

Can anyone help with this question? I've got an '86 CJ7 maual tranny. Also will I have to adapt the steering shaft or multi-switch at the bottom of the column?

The full sized vans have the same Saginaw column and almost the same wiring harness... All the various plugs and sockets from the van will swap over. I used a harness from one to replace all the pigtails back in 99.

I got a couple from E-bay from FSJ vehicles made on or before '86.

Same EVERYTHING, bolted right in with no problems, work great.
Did I mention I got one for about $50 and the other for $75 ?!!!
Great prices considering I didn't have to get my fat butt under any dashboards or vehicles!
