Cold Air Kit Install on CJ w MPFI

I got this aFe kit at the Truck Fest for $200: Cold Air Intake System Stage 2 Jeep Wrangler (TJ)- 97-06 I6-4.0L 54-10142 - aFe Power

Started by bending the tabs out of the way so I could get it close enough to the fender for fitting.

Trimming to be done on the forward mount.
Before

After

After much on/off, on/off and some "creative" bending, tabs are ready for drilling.

Holes drilled and mounted.

Some baffle material to insulate the fender from getting chaffed.

I had the extra task of slotting the rear of the shield to make room for my hood struts. It took me more time to do that than everything else.

I have the PCV and canister hoses T'd off for now until I can find a fitting that goes into the second location in the tube for a cleaner look.

The seal the system comes with isn't tall enough to seal against the hood so I'll add (rivet on) some aircraft baffle material to completely isolate the box from engine cmpt. heat.

Thanks guys. I poked around on a few different sites and got no feedback about anyone doing a system on CJs so thought I'd toss this up here.

Very nice install, I have often wondered why there hasn't been more on this subject. Looks like you may be the first to post this on the JF.

Great work........

Thanks Trap. I was surprised not to find much on it myself. If this post saves the next guy some head scratching, then I've paid it forward.

Sorry man, I never knew you needed help otherwise I would have tried to help you out. Well, I did a 4.0 topic not a specific CAI topic. I fail.
