Horribly disgusting... I'll take that off your hands and properly dispose of it for you... Ok, I think I've used that line too many times too... That thing looks better than any jeep I've seen on a showroom!! Although I've only seen it in pics, it just looks amazing!!!

... I guess I'm gonna have to fix that too…….

I got the passenger's side flare installed.

I even mounted the side markers.

Pinstripes should be here within the week but I have to wait for it to warm up a bit before I can install them.

Once it gets warmer I can finish polishing the hood, apply my decals and drive it to my friend's house to make a box for the subs. I need to install the tailgate and twin sticks for the D300. Then I need to fab a trans tunnel cover and modify my winch mounting plate to fit with my front bumper. The list is getting shorter for sure. I've been working on it so long I am in a little bit of denial over the fact that it is almost done. It's kind of a strange feeling really.

I REFUSE to even PEEK at this thread again until the HOOD is in place!!! I'm sending you subliminal messages! THINK HOOD!

BTW- I like your tires just the way they are.

Mike it's really coming together great. The things like the flares and such that are black really do set the paint off even more. Almost done, hmmmm I look forward to that day myself. You're sure doing a top notch job!!

Hey Coiz it looks great, but are your rear fender flares on the wrong sides? Looks like left should be on the right and right should be on the left side.

Unless you did this on purpose for a rocker guard of some sort.

They are on the correct sides. When I cut the rear of the fender openings ~3" to fit the 35's, that automatically makes the flares 3" too short. I decided to mount them where the extra 3" was at the front instead of the back. The 3" gap will be filed in with pin-striping all the way to the front fenders. The pinstripes will be here in a couple days. I won't be able to install them until it warms up but I can tape them in place to show what I'm trying to do.

I got home this afternoon from an unexpected overnight trip to find a present sitting on my desk chair. My pinstripes have arrived.

Decals and Emblems

I have been thinking about and planning these for quite some time. I tried to get a couple quotes last year and even told one guy to make them and was repeatedly asking him how should I pay, he just flaked out and quit responding. At the time I just put off the pinstripes and figured I would wait until spring. One day while on the JF I saw something that made me go, duh. I saw a members name who just might be in the graphic design business. A couple PM's and emails later and here we are.

I want to say thanks to Jeep Forum member Graffxman for hooking me up with some awesome custom made pinstripes! He made everything exact to my standards, worked fast (even though I told him not to) and did it all at a great price! He even added a little extra to the ends to make sure I would have plenty of adjustment for letter placement. It didn't sound like he does a lot of automotive stuff but he sure did a great job on mine and extra business can't be a bad thing so if you ever need some decals made, or even T-shirts, send Graffxman a PM and I'm sure he'll hook you up.

At this point these are all the decals and emblems I have to install. The main run for each rocker panel, the two shorter runs for the front fenders, both Jeeps, Cobra's for the front fenders and the original AMC and CJ-7 for the rear corners. The chrome Jeep is brand new from the assembly plant a few miles away that builds the Compass and the Patriot. My neighbor gave it to me out of the blue. I could use it as another retro piece or even paint it black. If I did use that it would go on the rear corner somewhere.

The CJ emblem is heavy and looks like I can just paint that pretty easily to freshen it up. The AMC emblem is a little worse off. The clear plastic that the colored part of the emblem is on is all cracked up. I can put it on as is, like a throwback to all the things that the Jeep has been through its' entire life. I can leave it off or replace it with the new chrome one. I can buy a new one somewhere, which a quick search revealed about ~$100 for NOS, ouch! Anyone know if the $19 one from Morris is any good?

I would just like to say thanks again to Graffxman for these decals. Here is the main run taped up into its' general position, obviously I will cut to length.

The short run for the front fenders is actually just a little bit different to adjust for the lip. I want to make sure the temperature of the air and metal is up to around 70 degrees before I apply the vinyl. I think it's going to look good once I get that tape off and see them all shiny. I can't wait to detail the install of these.
