Your reception should be pretty good with the short antenna. I had a similar type setup with my Sony stereo before I started pulling everything a part and I was able to catch all my local FM stations with no problem. The sensitivity on quality aftermarket stereo such as the Alpine unit you have is very good allowing for good reception.

Reading this thread just took up the past three days at work and most of this Saturday. All my monthly reports were put on hold

First, great work on the Jeep man, from the frame all the way through to the paint job and the engine mod. Very rare the find an individual who has such diligence and to top it all off he is a Jeep owner, bloody awesome! I LOVE the white and black paint job it's absolutely beautiful. Here is my Jeep I purchased a few moths ago, it's black and white but not as awesome as yours and I think the previous owners used house paint:

I posted the 2nd pic in my first thread here and another user cleverly dubbed my Jeep's paint job as "parking lot camo" Your paint job is inspiring, awesome job.

I have recently been thinking of getting that same iDA-X303 for my Jeep, but I am unfamiliar with installing it. If you don't mind and if possible show pics of the installation..?

^^^ Thanks for taking the time to read the thread. That is quite a unique paint job you have there.

Install of the Alpine should go pretty easy but I will detail as much as I can for you.

I also got my replacement windshield from Morris4x4. It was $105 shipped and came nicely packed. It has a green tint I'm not overly enthusiastic about but not much I can do about it now. My original was clear and this one is obviously green. That is something I would have liked to have known before ordering.

I got the new seal installed and should have a hand later today installing it into the frame.

One cool thing is that it actually says Jeep on the glass.

Are these the emblems you were talking about?

I'll have to keep my eye on those as they are pretty close. One nice thing about emblems is that you can put them on at any time during the build.

I just found these that might work well with all of my black and white and they are only $18 a pair. I'm going to wait until after I get my pin-striping, fender flares and cobra emblems installed before I decide if I want to go with anything else.

Mike,
Looks great as always.
Do you have any more pics of the windshield seal?
I ordered mine from Morris as well and my seal is too large for the glass. I think I have the incorrect seal.

Thanks,

Jeff

I seen those on ebay too. I was going to post them up but you said you were looking for the shelby type emblem.

I'm not really sure what other pictures you would want. I bought my seal over two years ago and don't really remember who it was from, maybe JCW. I had to stretch mine the last little bit and message it to even the tension, it was definitely not too big.

Stupid question, I'm sure... but the green tint wasn't a protective coating that you should peel off first? Just asking...

I was thinking the same thing, that the green was just a protective film. I'm curious if it is or if the windshield is actually tinted green.

Need a few Cobra emblems to match your valve covers. With the sound of your exhaust, no one will even question it

Excellent, entertaining progress has been made. Well done!

But seriously, Coiz, I bet you watch minimal television and are much happier for it......

Sorry about the hijack,

The seal I received has more than one "groove" on one side. I have it part way installed with these extra "grooves" on the glass side.
My glass is green as well.

Thanks,

Jeff
