Jim Crabtree's Shackle Hangers

Brown Santa made a stop and left me some goodies. I can tell you that these things are stout and make the stock hangers look and feel like toys. If you haven't seen these then you haven't been on the forum lately. You can check out the thread here or just order them from Crabtree Tool & Die.

Thanks to Jim for the great packing and shipping. I even got a little Halloween treat too.

I love the attention to detail.

Looks like I've got a few more parts to paint with the POR. Hopefully I can get to that this weekend.

All the local places want $200 tinted or non-tinted but you can get them shipped from all the 4x4 places for just over $100, no option for tinted or not. I'm leaning toward keeping the one I have since the windshield can pretty much be replaced at any time.
Do you have a Binswanger in your neck of the woods? I ordered a windshield from an outfit on eBay last year for $100 + $20 shipping and it arrived broke; the replacement also arrive broke, and then it took two months to get a refund. I called the local Binswanger and they had one for $97 + tax.

According to their web sight they don't even have a branch in my state. Thanks for the heads up though. Morris4x4 and the like are all about $105 shipped, I'm still on the fence. I need to buy another volt gauge and a coolant overflow tank so....

Those shackle hangers are really tough looking! Wish I needed to upgrade. Wifey wouldn't be pleased with me buying those

They really are stout hangers. You just need to convince her it is a safety upgrade and that ~$150 for all four is chump change for such a substantial upgrade over stock. I can guarantee those hangers will never be the weak link in my suspension.

He's just getting set up to make quite a few more sets, this is a perfect item to add to a Christmas wish list. Just make sure you give him enough lead time, I have a feeling these are going to be a hot ticket.

I was thinking a 1/4" stripe then an 1/8" one below it. We'll see what happens over the next couple of months.
I think even a small, single stripe will set off the white. I did mine on Paint so it doesn't look very good. The red part says "Cobra". I thought it would be a cool touch to go down on the lower panel under Jeep, or a Cobra head starting at the front curve of the front fender and tapering back into the stripe, but I'm not good enough to depict it. Cobra ought to be on that Jeep somewhere!

This is the cobra on the side of a 1968 shelby. They are like 4 inches tall. I think they would look great under the jeep logo. I get alot of shelby parts from tony branda, they might have something that you could tie in.

How about a set for a 2010 Shelby?

Those are 4" tall. Once I get it together I might consider buying a set of the 2003 emblems which are only 2.75" tall to place on the front grill and back of a rear corner. I want to see how it's all going to come together first.

I like the 2010 the best Mike. That would make for a nice touch.

So Scott says the shackle hangers are Chinese knock offs.

Those emblems are in my possession so it is just a matter of when and where they will be applied, probably to the main side of the front fenders.

Scott doesn't even know what I look like so I'm not sure he's the most qualified to make that determination.
